[newbie] Apache, PHP and mSQL

I've recently installed mSQL and purchased O'Reilly's _MySQL and mSQL_. I
have the most recent release of apache to be made available through
MandrakeUpdate.

When I try to use any msql specific commands from within PHP, I am told
that the command is unknown. I can't even open a connection. What do I
need to do to add msql functions?
