Has anyone tried Mandrake's new firewall MNF? Have you had any luck getting it to work? Along with 5 or 6 of my peers, I've tried 7 installs, with absolutely no success whatsoever. The install works, but it won't ping anything (although the command exists on the system), SSH has applied RSA keys which prevent anyone from logging in that way, and although httpd-naat is up and running, either I can't get the login page to come up, or if it does (depending on which install I did), it returns an error about not finding cookies.
All in all, a very disappointing experience! This should not require a degree in "Rocket Science" to get into the initial login screen. The system is an Athlon 800 with 512 Mb of ram, and 3 supported network cards. There are NO IRQ conflicts at all. "ifconfig" is returning the proper info about the NIC's. Even after I shutdown "iptables" and "Shorewall", I still don't get a single thing from the system, except green lights on the NIC's and my hub. This exact same system handled 3 or 4 8.2 Prosuite installs without a hitch, including the three NIC's. My friends have tried their own installs and received other errors for their troubles. One of them got an error that there was no O/S installed on the hard drive immediately after the install! Any ideas? -- Lanman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
