                I've just tried that but without any luck. I'm getting no output 
whatsoever 
from  sox -V -c2 -r 44100 -t ossdsp -w -s /dev/dsp myfile.ogg (or /dev/dsp1 
or /dev/audio). I am beginning to suspect that with the current drivers I 
have I cannot do duplex (recording while playing). I know for a fact that 
when I enable duplex for arts in the KDE control center then realplay just 
freezes on startup. I've also tried running the esound daemon (esd) instead 
of artsd , but realplay doesn't seem to work with that either.
