Yes! Personally, I generally use a dual boot drive. When I want to try something -- update/upgrade, or anything risky -- I first clone the drive and try the update, etc. on that. If anything goes wrong I still have the original drive. DriveCopy, or one of the other cloners, makes a great "backup."
