OK, ran a urpmi --auto-select last night and updated lots of things. I needed to print something out of kword and although everything looks correct, nothing comes out of the printer. Cups is updated, I ran printerdrake, it's sending the test pages to the printer and then it just disappears into thin air.
The parport modules are loaded and everything else seems fine - I don't think it's a kernel issue - although I have kernel-source for 2.4.21, the kernel rpm is still at 2.4.19.
