open a terminal window, su - to become root..

then type:

hostname my.new.hostname

Then edit the file /etc/sysconfig/network

edit the line:

HOSTNAME xxxx.xxxx.xxxx
to reflect the new hostname.

Then edit /etc/hosts file to make sure that it resolves your new hostname
properly.

Done... easy huh?

No doubt you could have done that with webmin or netconf or MCC, but why
bother when its that easy?
