Next, you might want to check the specifications a second time.  I was
at www.xfree86.org and at www.tridentmicro.com and neither had an 8400
AGP

The AGP cards were the 3DImage975 (9750), 985(9850) and the Blade3D, so
if there is a Trident 8400 AGP it is something so new it is not yet
listed on the Trident Micro site.  In such a case it is unlikely to be
supported.   ALL the chipsets listed at the Trident Micro site were
listed as supported at XFree86 Org, so Mandrake 6.1 would also support
the listed ones.
