What model is yours? I'm not liking the chance of being able to do anything from the Windows side. Do you remember when Compaq was supposedly an acronym for "COMP(atibility)A(nd)Q(uality)?" It seems now that it's a synonym for cheaply made proprietary crap. The BIOS (or a large part of it) lives on that second "hidden" partition with all of the "Restore" stuff. I don't know what you need to do next, and I'm sorry I'm unable to help. Maybe somebody with a clue will read this and give you a hand.
