Didn't happen to check "growable" while in diskdruid did you?
My disk takes about 30 mins to run thru fsck, i forget how long it took to
format a 15gig partition (fell asleep :) ) anyways, if you selected
"growable" that 4gig partition you asked for is going to come out to
just under 19G and will take awhile..
