Well, it seems the new kernel isn't installed. How did you try to install it ? When I do it, I download the kernel into a directory, change into that directory and, as root, "urpmi kernelblabla.rpm. When finished, I edit lilo.conf, run lilo, done. If everything then works, I urpme the old kernel to save some space.
