I got the rpm, saw a sample sf2 file in /etc/midi, laoded it (I think) but still no output. According to lsmod the midi stuff seems to be enabled. I don't have an AWE32 - I've got a SB Live value. I don't remember needing this before in 9.2 and I'm pretty sure I had midi playback working in 9.2. (One clue is that playmidi by itself gives "no devices fuond", "playmidi -a" seems to go through the motions of playing sounds, but nothing comes out the speakers.
