Sure you can Dennis; I did. I stopped using the alpha disks and started just plugging whatever system I'm testing into my hub, or use a USB drive, or just plug my mirror drive in temporarily. Depends when and where. It's easier that way anyway. Same like installing from the 'Net but a lot faster 'cause I don't have to be patient with the connection. It is an Alpha release after all. Once you're up and at least have a usable system please install the testzilla-clients so you can add your hardware configuration to the database at bugzilla. I don't always remember to do it with the systems I test, but every little bit will help in the long run.
