Reliable? Up to a point Lord Copper.

I've had two of them croak on me - one after 6 months (which I got replaced under guarantee) and the other after about 3 years. In my experience a ticking sound is an indication that the final appeal has failed and it is not long for this world. You'd better make regular backups while you still can.
