If you have done a typical workstation installation then the fortune
program will be in /usr/games/
If it isn't there then you can download it from
http://www.linuxberg.com/index.html look in amusements or games or
something like that....you'll find it.
Then at the end of your .profile or .bash_profile or .login file or
whatever you're using for whatever shell just add the line
/usr/games/fortune
now every time you logon some silly message will appear.
