CC: to list, damn Gmail :-)

Are you looking for a just a text editor, or a full-blown Word Processor?

In KDE the Kate and KWrite text editors don't have AutoCorrect, but they do
have a Word Completion plugin that pops up a list of suggested completions to
choose from.  you need to turn it on in the Configure dialog.

For Word Processors, in KDE KWord has a full AutoCorrect implementation and
starts way faster than OOo :-)  For Gnome, I guess that AbiWord also has
AutoCorrect.

John.
