That is very wise, Rosemary. Not wanting to dampen anyone's enthusiasm, but all Computer books are out of date by the time they are published. The best up-to-date information is freely available on the Net.


Having said that, even old computer books can be useful in terms of learning the concepts and methods involved. They are not always good at the finer details of the newer releases of various Linux distributions.

"Linux for Dummies" isn't bad.
