The instructions from easyurpmi set up your sources. You then need to use urpmi or Software Installer to do the updates - either way you will see it happening. If you haven't installed slocate, do so. ISTR that you also have to add yourself to the slocate group (userdrake, to do that). Then, from a console you can type slocate packagename and you will see all the packages with that name in - including the docs - so you will see which version you have installed.
