Boot Linux and goto your /etc directory
edit lilo.conf

you'll see and append= line

change it to

append = "mem=256M" 

Also, you can try

linux mem=256m at the lilo prompt, just to make sure
you don't mess anything up.

after you edit lilo.conf, run: lilo -v and reboot.
