did you correctly type into your /etc/rc.d/rc.local file the line (without
quotes) "setserial uart16550A port 0x(whatever you are set to I/O) irq
(whatever irq your modem is)" ? if I do not put the space for uart or do not
put a A but use an a I get an error message, but if I do not put a uart
speed at all I get no message that I saw and do not connect as fast. I use
the actiontec call waiting and notice much faster over all downlaod speeds,
not necessarly connect speeds but download speeds much faster.
