Aaron....it's not really a secret.  You need to change the
first line of /etc/lilo.conf to point at the / partition (or
/boot partition if you have one) instead of the mbr.  For
instance if the first line of /etc/lilo.conf ended in hda then
you need to change it to hda1 if 1 is the / partition.  Then
run lilo as root to write the new info to the new location.
