Thanks for the response. Yes it works in Windows and I did check the cables
so I'm not sure what is wrong.

Have you made any hardware changes to your box?
Check your cables from Sound card to CDrom drive (should
be a skinny one say 3mm (1/8th ") dia cable with flat
connectors
Do you dual boot? Can you play cds in the other opsys?
