I don't know if there are "hot keys" exactly, but generally whether you start in text or graphic mode depends on which "run level" is used. The run level can be thought of as a level of operation. Here are the default run levels for Mandrake:
0 - power down the machine 1 - single user mode 2 - multi-user mode w/o networking 3 - mult-user mode WITH networking 4 - (not used) 5 - multi-user mode with networking and graphical environment 6 - reboot the machine I'm guessing you want to be able to choose between runlevels 3 and 5. If you're using the lilo boot loader, you could hit Escape when the lilo screen comes up, then type the name of the lilo entry you want to boot followed by the appropriate runlevel number ("linux 3" or "linux 5"). If you wanted to, you could create two entries in lilo -- one that starts Linux in text mode, and one that starts in graphic mode. But that's another e-mail. :) - Kathy Stephen Liu wrote: > Hi All People, > > What will be the hot keys for toggling between text and graphic modes at > starting Linux > > Thanks > > B.R. > Stephen Liu > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? > Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com -- Introducing SPAS 8.0 - software to perform statistical analysis on questions from dumb users.
