as far as i know, the vx-chipset was able to cache more than 64mb... but... because of the vx-chipset being able to work with single ram-modules instead of pairs and the way the chipset worked to accomplish this, the vx was slower than a "normal" chipset. the one and only master chipset in this era was hx...
