Rosemary, I have not kept up on this thread, but, did you check "enable acpi" on boot up in lilo. If not give it a try, all of my usb devices worked after I enabled acpi. HTH
How do I go about that? I've used mc to look at lilo.conf, is that the one? There are a couple of entries that have acpi in them, but nothing which obviously (to me) says enable, or not.
