For the desktop shortcut - right click on desktop, choose new link to
application. Enter '/usr/local/Acrobat5/bin/acroread' as the command.
You can choose a pdf icon from system icons.
If it still doesn't work do a 'slocate acroread' from the command line
and find the path for the command from the output.
