Well, I can state that both the CD-R and the CD-RW work perfectly in the
car. Both discs were burnt using the 2.6.3-7mdk kernel that comes
standard with MDK 10.0

Yes, an it's hacked by Mand* to allow that. A more recent
kernel, eg, 2.6.12 is not similarly patched.
