No your hostname will not prevent networking to Windows computers working.
Your hostname is currently "e5200" if you want a different one enter it in
MCC>Networking>Miscellaneous

To network with Windows computers you need to install
samba-client and samba-server
You should open your firewall on Linux to samba service if you have one.

If you use Mandriva 2006 you should see the windows network in the "Devices"
icon on the desktop, or install smb4k for a windows explorer type interface.

To set your windows workgroup
KDE ControlCentre>Network>Samba admin mode also here enable those linux users
who will share their home directories with windows.

For your printer run the Printer GUI from Mandriva control Centre. It should
find and configure the Windows printer.
