Not exactly. But if I understood correctly, ht will work only on dual core.
BTW ht should be disabled on most kernels, as there is a security risk in
it (lilo append entry "ht=off").

It's not getting faster, but it can more easily do different things
simultaneously . In gkrellm you'll see one "cpu" is busier than the other.
For the actual rates and the theory behind it, google is your friend.
