Your question has nothing to do with Mac or PC based. They are equals.

Yes one could do as you suggest but you may not like the results. You would
most likely need some expert help in setting up the import. After the import
you will have to worry about duplicates that get introduced. If all that was
been imported was names and payments for the new names, the process might
not be too hard. But if there are changes in subsidiary files like actions,
etc., or changes to members that are already in the database then you will
have much larger import problems.
