What about this? http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.4360945224762&lon=-113.488726615906&zoom=15 You can't see all of them in the OSM map, but there are 27 bridges in this intersection, when it could have been done with 2. NB traffic on highway 2 has to move to the high speed lanes on the left side of the motorway to take the exit ramp, which then uses a fly-over bridge to get the traffic back to the right hand side of the roadway where it should have been for a proper exit ramp. After the fly over, you have to make 5 separate lane changes to the left in order to get onto the EB through lanes, as the right hand lane keeps ending as new lanes are added on the left. Traffic entering the SB motorway merges into existing traffic from the left, rather than the right... here through traffic has to merge left into entering traffic across 4 lanes to get out of lanes that are ending. There is not a single lane that you can travel in SB through this intersection from start to finish. You have to make lane changes to be able to get through it, and the SB roadway is 3 lanes wide. Some days you just want to take the traffic planners out and shoot them!
