There's a script on the knoppix CD that'll do it for you.  Just enter 
'sudo knx-hdinstall' into a terminal without the 's and you'll be good 
to go.  It offers you a few choices through dialog boxes and the like, 
and then copies itself over to your hard drive.  Fastest linux install 
I've ever done.
