Sound Card: Ya, mandrake can be like that. Has it just not recognized it altogether or is it just not making sound? For example, with xmms I had to switch my Output Plugin to OSS from aRts NIC: What kind of card is it? I have a 3Com in my desktop that has never been recognized by Mandrake and whenever I install, I have to set in manually. Look up the specs of the card in Windows (*shiver*) and then see if you can find the driver. Also, check out the Mandrake site (http://www.mandrake-linux.com/) and go to their hardware section. They have a tool where you can look up to see if a piece of hardware can or cannot work and if it's been "approved" or if someone has reported that it works. -- Jacob Albretsen [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://phantom.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/newbies
