Yeah, I read the original post wrong.  urpmi won't let him install it.
If he had gotten it installed and it was just complaining about a
missing library, then the symlink and 'ldconfig' would fix it.  But it
won't fix a package dependency problem like this.

You could try downloading the SRPM and recompiling it.  You might have
to hack the .spec file in the process.  Dependency messes like this are
why I 'emerge' or 'make install' everything.
