Well, after trying all the fixes for my java 5 problem and following

have messed things up by adding and editing and changing so much. I
don't believe there is a way to undo everything I have done, except
maybe wiping the whole system and starting over *shutter*, but without
Java 5 on here, I won't use it much. If anyone has any last option
ideas, I would welcome them before starting over.

Starting over probably isn't a bad idea, but when you do, what you need to do is make sure to (a) get Fedora Core RPMs for Java 5, and (b) make sure you don't have any other Java anything installed before you install those RPMs.

If you need help obtaining (a), let me know. I think I still have FC4 Java 5 RPMs lying around here somewhere ...

(Oh, and if you need help with (b), let me know on that one too :)
