That would work, but involves a extra steps. The user has to commit the code to their local nhibernate-test-case repo in order to execute git-format-patch. The individual assigned to fix the defect must then download and apply the patch to their local instance of the nhibernate-test-case repo. Being able to download a self-contained archive may just remove a few barriers. Also, by having submitters follow naming conventions, it should be easy to copy the NH#### folder from the test case to the main NHibernate-Test project.
