How rusty is your tank? As I understood his posts, his was lightly rusted and the process took about 24 hours. If yours is heavy, you might want to investigate more industrial strength methods. Don't have the link handy at the moment, but if you Google POR-15, I know they offer a kit for cleaning and repairing motorcycle gas tanks.
