Please excuse as I'm sure you already know this. Gas engines need four things
to run, air, gas, spark. And compression. For air, make sure there are no mouse
nests in the airbox, and that exhaust flows from the exhaust pipes (I hate
rodents!). Next pull the plugs and check for spark and compression. If all that
checks out then you are down to fuel. Make sure fuel flows past the petcock, if
so then clean the carbs again. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] New tire, first attempt to start this season

Hey everyone,
So the good riding weather is back (sort of). Last September I had a flat
on the rear tire and since it started snowing I decided to park the bike
for winter. I was foolish and did not winterize the bicycle (except for
stabil). Yesterday I mounted a new tire and tried to start it but it
wouldn't crank. So I tried to push start it, but all that happens is the
tire locks up. What should I do next in the diagnosis process? Should I
look at sparks?

Oh yes, details:
- CB650s
- Full battery
- New plugs & air filter installed last August
- Carbs cleaned Aug 2011 with new pins and gaskets.

Any advice is appreciated - even if it's reproaching me for not remembering
to winterize it!

Thanks!!!

Stefano
