I bought my 82 Nighthawk new,  and think it almost always needed choke to
start, even in the middle of summer.  what size is the one your looking at?

I'm pretty sure needing some choke is totally normal on a stock nighthawk,
though mine was a newer model. Even so if once warm the bike runs fine without
choke is normal behavior on a carburetor bike.

What to look out for and look for in this bike....Price tag
$800.00....Pics look pretty good....Owner says that it does not smoke,
but is a little hard starting and requires choke till it warms up.
Then everything is hunky-dory...Thanx....Burke
