In the motorcycle Safety course I took - we were told, repeatedly, to
always use the kill switch. As a result, 99+% of the time, I do. (I'm
leaving a little wiggle room here, since I'm sure there has been a time
where I've left the switch on and used the key) One thing I like about the
Suzuki that I've been riding - if the kill switch is off, it kills the
starter motor relay as well. In other words, you can't by accident crank
the battery dead. Its a simple, easy, wiring change if one wanted to make
it - but it does have the disadvantage of not being able to roll the engine
over without it firing. The majority of the time that isn't a problem, but
if you wanted to work on it and bump the engine over you might be in for a
surprise.
