Javier, I can answer those. Both headlight and ignition coils are fed by small wires that travel through several switches.
The relay mods use those wires to drive relays instead. Relays don't require much current, so the old, possibly dirty original wiring path won't struggle with them. The relays are then wired in a direct connection from the battery to the device, usually with much upgraded wire. This provides a lower resistance, shorter, and simpler path for the device, with less voltage drop. I've done them both to my own Nighthawk, not hard and pretty cheap. I got a volt and a half increase at the headlight after the mod, enough to show a visible improvement in light output.
