from then on. Based on:
Shadow.... Route 66

Dave,

I agree with all your points except 2 which I think a matter of personal

choice. For me the riding position on the NH is pretty fine. I rode 12hr

from DC to Boston and it was fine. Obviously I was beaten at the end, but I

would have been with any other bike. I have a Corbin seat, which is much

harder than the stock, so for long trips I also use a gel pad.

For long trips I would also add a windshield, even a small one can be a

huger difference.

Plus I have other modifications I think are very worthy:

- Washer mod: very simply and cheap to do, makes the mid range a lot better.

- Progressive suspension: this made my bike a whole lot better. It is

expensive if you want to do front and rear, but if you want to go cheap,

the fork springs are not very expensive.

- SS brake lines: it improves the braking significantly (plus it's safer

over time), specially if combined with the firmer Progressive springs. I

try to do this in all my bikes.

- 12V power outlet: extremely useful, specially in long trips.

Javier.
