I'm glad to hear that.

If you were considering an upgrade because of difficulty seeing at night,
you might be able to improve visibility by adjusting your headlight upward
a bit. When I first started riding in 2005, I found the headlight on the
bike I bought (a 2005 Honda Shadow Aero) was adjusted too low. I fiddled
with it, initially adjusting it too high (making drivers think my high beam
was on), and then readjusted it while it was pointed at my garage door at
night, aiming the top of the beam to be about level with the top of the
headlight. You don't want it so low that you can't see what's ahead of you
without turning on your high beam, but you don't want it so high that it
blinds other drivers. Incidentally, I've never felt a need to adjust the
headlight on my 2003 Honda Nighthawk 750. It came to me adjusted well.

In my experience, I've learned that the mechanics who assemble motorcycles
at dealerships often do a sloppy job of it, leaving off mounting screws,
mounting cable guides backwards or upside down, and installing mirrors in
ways that they can't be properly adjusted without correcting how they are
mounted. That has been my main motivation to do my own maintenance and
repairs. It's not easy to find a trustworthy and competent motorcycle
mechanic.
