If you are looking for a little more performance from your headlight, step
one should always be to make sure it's properly adjusted. That should also
be the last step any time you mess with it.

You can also get a fresh bulb of standard wattage levels. Lamps degrade
with time and use, so a fresh lamp can be better than an old but not burned
out light.

You can also upgrade your wiring to the light by adding relays and a direct
connection to the battery. Use the stock wiring to control the relays and
heavy gauge fresh wiring to feed the light from the batteries. This way you
preserve your stock functionality but feed the light it's rated voltage and
allow full current.
