Hello Prasad!

I was in the same situation a couple of months ago, and I ended up with
Sigma 105/2.8 EX Macro. The quality of Sigmaīs has been discussed quite
extensively, and I agree that many of their lenses are, well, cheap.
The new EX-series, however, seems to be a huge step forward, according to
all tests Iīve seen. This macro is really a joy to have. Itīs sharp, I
havenīt noticed any distortion, the focussing ring is very wide, Itīs mostly
made of metal.... I think it is at least as good as the Tamron. The Nikons
are in a class of themselves, I believe, both in quality and price.
I think that You will be satisfied no matter which lens You choose.

Just let me know if You need more information. Good luck!

Hi all,

I am thinking of buying a micro/macro lens, since the only lens I own Nikon
28-200 isn't useful for close up shots of flowers etc.

I have 3 choices in mind :
1. Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8 D Micro
2. Nikon AF 105mm f/2.8 D Micro
3. Tamron SPAF 90mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1
After reading other discussions on the same subject I am leaning towards
Tamron, because I can probably use this one even for portraits.
Any comments, suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Happy Holidays,
- - Prasad
