I have been looking/buying/exchanging/using F2's for the last few years. The
prices I saw were generally as below.
F2A unused USD 1600+ boxed & all packaging
mint USD 1300 100% like new
mint- USD 1000 98% like new, almost like new
exc++ USD 750 90% like new, some brassing, little used
exc+ USD 600 80% like new, brassing & some scratches, amateur
used
exc USD 500 70% like new, brassing & scartches, above amateur
used
vg USD 400 60% like new, dents etc, pro used, but works OK
There seems to be little differece in price of secondhand F2s in Europe and
in the US. Locating a really mint/unused F2 is like finding a treasure
nowadays.
If you are buying a F2, check several times that the slow shutter speeds
work OK, and all foam materials are not disintegrating. I had to change the
foam materials on most of my F2s. Generally pre-1977 F2s have this problem.
You should get a discount if the foam materials need replacing.
