Just for the record, a photojournalist is a professional. Gen Kanai wrote: <<But we all know that Nikon doesn't care what the hell we think, only what the pros and PJs think. And of course the pros and the PJs buy almost anything they want to because that's their living and most of them can afford it, right ;) >> It appears as if Gen is complaining that he can't afford to buy all the great top of the line Nikon equipment. Well Gen, if you are just a weekend shooter, too bad. Deal with the fact that those expensive tools are just neat-o toys for you to play with. If you are a person who needs excellent equipment for your business, then you need to talk to your accountant. As a working pro, there are many tools that I'd love to have, like a 13mm f/5.6, but can't afford to buy because I don't have a regular application for it. So I either rent the gear if I need it for a certain shoot, or I keep dreaming because it's just a want and not a need. Gen, it seems that the lenses you are talking about missing are the 24mm f/2.0, 28mm f/2.0 and 35mm f/1.4. Guess what? I'd like an AF-D version of those too but since the current AF-D lenses in those ranges are certainly pro caliber and only a stop dimmer, that isn't much to grumble about. There is very little demand for those lenses these days so no manufacturer is in a big hurry to make new ones. Nikon is most likely reformulating those designs and when they do give us an AF 24mm f/2.0 D, it will be better than the old version. As for the price of Canon lenses in the same category, they are often the same price or higher. Quit whining and start shooting. Jonathan Castner Photojournalist Denver
