Whoa! Hold your flames people. My comments on the F70 were just based on my impressions using one. I was provided a loan F70 while my F90x was under repair and my encounter with it can be summed up as most frustrating. I spent 30 minutes reading the manual and mastered the camera immediately. Setting the functions without the manual was not a problem. The problem was doing it in time. I had a major photoshoot the next day covering a local go-kart race and the F70 fared rather well in program mode. AF speed was right up there with the F90x but notably slower in response times but still very capable for a camera of it's category. It tracked well and exposed well too. No complaints there. But when I decided to switch to shutter priority for some panning shots, I had to press a button, spin a dial and then press another button and then spin the dial again and then press another button to set the required shutter speed. This wastes time and sacrifices spontaniety in a big way. By then the other guys with their friendlier cameras were already snapping away. Why go through such motions when it's just a simple one step procedure on another camera. My argument is that the F70 has a poor user interface and I challenge you flamers to a simple mode swithcing contest. For instance, I'll hit the mode button and spin the dial for shutter priority while you try to do it faster on your F70. You simply cannot do it quickly and for some of us this means missed opportunities. It's all about ergonomics and this is where the F70 is disadvantaged. If a quick user interface is not your priority or your type of photography does not require it, then good for you. The F70 has other good things going for it like a fantastic built in flash and AF speed. For my money, the F70 is a highly compromised product and the older F601 is way better to use because I can get it to do what I need much faster than on the F70.
