In discussing the prospect of an N80, someone said

>In fact, I'd like to see a F801 with an up to date AF system.

And someone else said

>That's the N70, according to Nikon.

Well no, the upgrade of the 801/8008s was the N90/s body, not the N70.
The N70 was an upgade of the 601/6006.

If you look at the feature set, you will see that the N70, with its
built-in flash and other features, is an upgrade of the 6006, while the
N90/s with its feature set -- no built-in flash, DOF preview, available
databack -- is an upgrade of the similarily equipped 8008/s body.

Now the F100 is an upgrade of the N90s, and the N80 (when it comes out)
will be an upgrade of the 6006/N70 line.
