My F100 acquisition is imminent and there are two flash-related questions I'd like to run by this assemblage for comments and suggestions.
1) I'll probably get the SB-27 flash rather than the SB-28. About 80% of my flash use is for fill on outdoor shots -- either people pics or closeups (80-200 f/2.8 with Canon 500D close-up lens). Th e SB-27 is smaller, lighter, and less top-heavy than the SB-28 and still lets me control the amount of fill, And I ususally don't need the extra power of the SB-28. Am I missing any major SB-28 exclusives that I'm likely to miss.
2) I'd like a flash bracket for a couple of reasons. First,
to hold and aim the flash on those close-ups. Second, to get the
SB-27 higher above the lens for indoor people pictures. Third, since
the SB-27 doesn't have a full tilt-and-swivel head like thr SB-28, to aim
it for bounce flash. I've looked (via the Web) at the Stroboframe
Stroboflip bracket ( www.saundersphoto.com
), the Kirk bracket (www.kirkphoto.com
), and the Newton brackets ( www.newtonca
merabrackets.com
). Has anyone used these? Any more suggestions?
Thanks
Dennis
