My guess is that you didn't have the second vertical shutter release locked (on the lower corner of the camera near the base) and might have been firing it unintentionally when removing the F5 from the QR plate. Sometimes I forget to lock mine and accidentally fire off a few shots when I pick up the camera mounted to the tripod while supporting the camera with my right hand. Regards, Sandy
